KMI/CSCI Computer Science

The course consists of a series of talks on computer science topics given by students and lecturers.

Course Schedule

Seminar: Wednesday 9:45--11:15 (LP-1024)

Requirements

To complete the course students are required to:

attend ~~8 of 12~~ 6 of 10 seminars,
present two topics:

one about any appropriate computer science topic of their choice (not covered in any other course)
one about their master's or bachelor's thesis;

Each presentation should be 20-25 minutes long + 5 minutes for questions and answers.
The presentations should be supported by visuals (slides).
prepare an extended abstract of their thesis (in English; 2 pages);

Suggested topics:

data structures and algorithms
(new or interesting) programming languages
database systems
data analysis
data mining
computer security and privacy
parallel and concurrent programming
distributed systems
network algorithms
